2020 Tax Season amid COVID-19

During this challenging time, we want to assure you that our office continues to be open and operating to serve your accounting and tax needs. However, to assist in the global effort of reducing the risk of spread of the COVID-19 virus, we will not be meeting with clients in person, until further notice, but will continue to be available by phone or email.

Despite the announcement by the Canada Revenue Agency that they will defer the filing due date for the 2019 tax returns of individuals*, our office is still working to meet the standard April 30 deadline. We encourage our clients to forward their tax information to our office, in anticipation of meeting the April 30 deadline. Anyone expecting to receive benefits under the GSTC or the Canada Child Benefit could see a disruption in these benefits should you delay the filing of your return.

We request that tax slips and documentation be forwarded to us at your earliest convenience. Paper copies of slips can be deposited into our drop box, which is monitored, or they can be mailed or couriered to the office. When dropping off in the drop box, please press the doorbell to notify us that you have dropped off, and your records will be collected immediately.

Electronic copies can be sent either through email, Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer. Please forward electronic copies in PDF format, not as image files (jpg, png, etc.). Completed tax returns will be forwarded to you through Canada Post or electronically, based on your chosen preference.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Our thoughts are with those who are struggling or whose health is at risk during this difficult time. Please remain safe.
